Testimonials

Hi Lorraine, yes we are happy customers and if our van is indicative of other vans coming off your factory floor I expect that you have a few other customers who are pleased to be Opalite owners. And yes I am happy for you to use my comments if you feel that they can be of some benefit. I don't have a great selection of photos to send at the moment but we will be hooked up again next week and I'll try for something better then.

When I say that we are happy with the van I mean that sincerely. We started out with quite low expectations given the nature of the criticisms that we were reading on the net. However our two visits to the factory gave us the opportunity to see with our own eyes the way in which the vans were constructed gave us enough confidence to give Opalite a chance. We had a reasonable understanding of composite construction and had been looking for this type of van. Nevertheless when we took delivery of our van our expectation was that there would be problems with the van and that it would be up to us to deal with them. We felt that the price we were paying for the van was so attractive that fixing the things that might be wrong were manageable for us. It needs also to be said that our van was among the first to come off the factory floor and in our case in something of a rush because of our wish to meet some other commitments. John made it clear that he would have liked a few more days to complete the van and I'm sure that having us hovering around added additional unneeded pressure. The few very minor problems we've had would have been picked up in the factory had we been patient enough to give the boys on the factory floor time to have a decent look around.
We took delivery late on a Friday afternoon and headed straight for Cairns. We've just returned from a second trip to Mackay. Two pretty decent trips with not even a hint of a problem. I've had a chance to look closely at the van, the construction, the wiring and the plumbing, and while I've made a few changes to the plumbing I'm happy with the standard. There are small improvements that can be made but they are largely cosmentic. The van looks good, is a pleasure to tow and is great to live in. Everything works as we hoped that it would from refrigeration to hot water to heating and solar charging. We will be on the road again next week and do so with the confidence of knowing that our van will be warm dry and problem free.
We hope to call into the factory on our way south around April next year and look forward to seeing you then.

Regards
John and Marg Young

Hi John & Marg

I have to tell you that we appreciate your comments and thank you so much for taking the time to do so. After all the flack we have received from a blog that was posted 12months ago it is encouraging to hear that we do have happy customers out there. We have discovered who was behind that blog ( a disgruntled employee as we suspected) and have addressed it over the last week. Thankfully it has been removed and we can now move on but it has cost us dearly in loss of sales.

How would you feel about us using your comments as a testimonial on our website (which we are in the process of updating) Also posting on to the caravanners forum?
Also any pictures you have of your travels we could use on our facebook.

Kind Regards
John & Lorraine

Hi Sue, can't resist the opportunity. On our way home from our second trip to Mackay. This van not only looks good but it also performs beyond expectation. I always worried about how I would deal with warranty issues and assumed that there would be a few of them. That of course is always possible in the future but on what I've seen so far this van shows no sign of having any issues beyond a good wash after each trip. We are genuinely happy with our decision to go with Opalite.
Hope all is well, please pass our regards to John and Lorraine.
Custom Build Around November 2007

We decided to purchase a new caravan – hence our search began. We attended many caravan and camping shows for some months and during a visit to Grafton sighted for the first time a caravan named “ÖPALITE”. Returning home to Forster We established that the Company Opalite Industries Pty Ltd were located in Holmwood Business Park, Beresfield NSW some 1 3/4 hours from Forster. We travelled to Beresfield to inspect the making of the “Opalite”- what a pleasant surprise. After much discussion, we ordered a “Karinya”- (a peaceful home) built as a “special” order to how we wanted the inside layout. We could go into great detail about our Opalite Caravan; however, we consider that this van has everything you would want in a caravan and the “price is right”.

An update from Marie and Carole…..

Like all new vans there were small teething problems and these were dealt with promptly and efficiently by staff. Our Opalite called “Calamarie Travellers” is now 12months old – we have travelled extensively and the performance of our van is still 100%. The shape of Opalite will never be outdated. We strongly recommend that should you be in the market to update or purchase a new caravan that you inspect the various models of Opalite – it is well worth the visit to Beresfield and we guarantee you will get value for money spent.

Although we were extremely hesitant at first to steer away from the well know brands of caravans we were fortunate that we did. After seeing an Opalite Caravan when on holiday we decided to at least investigate Opalite. We travelled to their factory site and we very surprised to see a well built van with a very competitive price. It’s been 6months now and we have had minor problems but these have been rectified under our warranty quickly and without question. We are very happy and have recommended Opalite to all of our friends and even strangers we have met during our travels.
